What is it?
The Advent season is all about the coming of Christ. In fact, the word advent actually means coming! It is celebrating the birth of Christ nearly 2,000 years ago and the anxious anticipation of His coming again! The Bible predicts the physical birth of Christ many times (Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6-7, Micah 5:2). May we celebrate together the birth of our wonderful Savior and hopefully await His return!
How do I use it?
For four weeks, it's as if we're re-enacting the waiting, remembering the thousands of years God's people were anticipating and longing for the coming of God's Son, Jesus Christ! The Advent guide functions as a devotional for the season.
Begin on December 3 with the Week 1: Hope Eternally Devotional. It’s pretty simple; read the devotional, do the activity, then pray! There are daily readings for the week, too, to be read from Monday through Saturday. Our hope is that this guide will help you experience the feeling of longing for Christ and His return. In an anticipatory search for hope, love, joy, and peace, advent reaches its climax in the person of Jesus Christ!
Where can I find it?
Hard copies of the guide can be found on the table at the entrance of the building in the lobby beginning November 19, 2017. We will print a limited supply of these, so grab them while you can!
