We’re passionate about Jesus’ last words being of first importance. In Matthew 28:18, Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” We’re convinced that the greatest method for making disciples to glorify God is through planting churches. There’s no other method in history that’s proven to be as effective as the apostle Paul’s method of boldly proclaiming the gospel and planting churches.
The Church at Martinsburg began as a church plant in 2009. Three years later, we planted our first of many church plants in Winchester, Virginia. Since Martinsburg is in the last stretch of the North American Mission Board’s Send DC region, our city is a strategic location for a church planting center. We hope to send planters and plant churches along the route of the MARC Train and one day reach our nation's capitol. We not only hope to plant churches all throughout our region, we partner with several other church planters in our country and around the world.
Church planting is not an easy task. But we know Jesus is faithful in providing laborers for the harvest and the necessary resources for such a bold mission.
