Our Pastors

  • As Lead Pastor, I work to provide a biblical vision and direction for the saints that make up the Church at Martinsburg. This takes place primarily through expositional preaching on Sunday mornings. I also, along with the other elders, labor to lead, teach and protect those entrusted to our care. Martinsburg has been my home from the beginning, and from the earliest of days, the Lord has been developing within me a love for Martinsburg and the people of this area. I long for all people, from my neighbors to the nations, come to know and love Jesus. Outside of the office, I can likely be found somewhere in Martinsburg with my wife, Cheree, and our four children. We love being outside, which typically takes the form of playing baseball or spending time at a playground.

  • As an Associate Pastor, I serve alongside the other elders to lead, teach and protect the flock the Lord has entrusted to us. My responsibilities are oversight and working with the ministry leaders of: community groups, kids, students, church partners as well as a few other ministry areas. Previously earning a living as a Project Manager and serving as a lay elder, the Lord opened up the opportunity for me to serve in full-time ministry with the church I love so much. Raised in Martinsburg, my love for this city has continued to grow as I get older and raise my family. My wife Rachel and I have four children. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, and being outdoors. We are grateful to be a part of this church family and have a deep desire for the Lord to be made much of as we help people find and follow Jesus.

  • As a lay pastor at the Church at Martinsburg, I serve our body in “helping people find and follow Jesus”. I am currently leading in our church by teaching various discipleship courses. My wife, Zabraida, and our two, children Savanah and Aiden, moved to Hagerstown, Maryland in 2016 from Vicksburg, Mississippi, where we immediately plugged into the Church at Martinsburg. It has a “connectedness” that is not common in most places; it is a body where we have been challenged and are growing in our walk with the Lord.

I have a Bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University in Criminal Justice and work as a contractor with the federal government. I enjoy family outings and gaming. I enjoy seeing God glorified through his people and people walking in newness of life based upon Christ’s victory over sin.

  • It is an honor and privilege to serve as lay pastor at the Church at Martinsburg with the other elders in leading, teaching and shepherding the flock of God. As well as lay pastor I oversee the international missions’ activities, serve on the welcome team and participate in the prayer ministry for the church family. My wife, Martha, and I retired from 42 years of rural church missionary work with Village Missions and moved here to be closer to family. We have three children and five grandchildren. I love to read, to work in the yard and garden, to share the Word and to share in hospitality.

  • It is a great privilege to serve as a lay pastor to the body of believers who make up the Church at Martinsburg. In addition to leading, teaching, and shepherding, I oversee the church’s small group ministry and serve in various other areas. My wife and I have called the Church at Martinsburg home for many years and are grateful to bear burdens with our church family while doing life together. I was born and raised in the eastern panhandle and love connecting with people in the community. From my neighbors to the nations, I hope to see Jesus made known and loved by all. When I’m not working or serving, I cherish time with my wife and two children. We like to travel and try new foods. I also enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, and following WVU sports.

Our Staff

  • As the Director of Operations for the Church at Martinsburg, my main responsibility is to serve. I serve and support our Pastors, ministry team leaders, as well as church members. I am responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the office, weekend services, and special projects. I work with the finance team, specific ministries and help to manage the facility.

Prior to joining the church, I had 20+ years of experience in the corporate world with data entry, data analysis, and office management.

My husband Jason and I love baseball and hanging out with our kiddos and pets. Crafting is a hobby of mine and I have a great collection of pens!

The Church at Martinsburg has been a mainstay in my life since 2014. I am grateful for the Lord's work and love seeing how faithful He has been in every season of my walk with Him.

  • As the Worship Leader, I oversee the Worship Team, which consists of the Band, Sound Team, Video Team, and Media Team. Our goal is to lead the congregation in theologically rich and biblical songs on Sunday mornings and record the sermons to be uploaded in both podcast and video formats.

Music has always been one of my greatest passions. I played in a bluegrass band for more than a decade, and I graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.

When I’m not at 50 Monroe, you’ll probably find me playing bluegrass with some buddies or spending time with my wife Nicole, our daughter, and our rambunctious dog.

  • As the custodian of the Church at Martinsburg, my main responsibility is to make sure the church is clean and ready for folks to worship alongside one another. It is a privilege and a blessing to take care of our building. In addition to dedicating my time to care for the building's needs, I am employed full-time as a custodian at Spring Mills High School, where the kids know me as Charles or the custodian with the beard. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife and daughters, woodworking and painting the occasional mural in the high school's fieldhouse.

Deacons & Deaconess

  • I grew up in Baltimore, but in 2001, I relocated to the Eastern Panhandle and began planting roots and raising a family.

I have five beautiful children and one grandson. I enjoy spending time with them and studying God’s Word. I can often be found admiring God's handiwork in nature. I’m humbled to serve as the first deacon at the Church at Martinsburg. I’ve been a member since 2010 and have had the privilege of serving in multiple areas such as hospitality, safety, and our children’s ministry. As a deacon, I currently work with and support our Associate Pastor, Jamie Leatherman, in oversight of our short-term missions ministry. It’s been a privilege to watch God bless our community through this church over the years.

  • I grew up in Martinsburg and have lived here most of my life. I currently serve in the West Virginia Air National Guard as an Avionics Technician.

I have two children and a beautiful wife, but the Lord's blessings in my life are innumerable. I am grateful every day for His provision. I joined C@M in 2020, and shortly after was plugged in to a community group. There, I saw how God calls Christians to be vulnerable, in community with one another, and to live in the word. I began serving as a co-leader, and then multiplied into the Singleton Way group as a leader. Since 2023, I have served community group leaders with coordination, training, and communication to uplift them in our efforts to foster God-centered community groups.

  • I grew up in a military family and traveled the world in my youth, but the Lord brought me to West Virginia in the late 1990’s and I’ve been quite content to remain here.

The Lord brought me into the family of God when I was 27. I took Paul’s words to heart from 1 Corinthians 7:8 and have remained single as I was when I came to the Lord. I have no children, but am surrounded by the family of God. As we like to say, “the gospel creates family”.

I have the privilege of serving as a deaconess at the Church at Martinsburg. My primary area of responsibility is the Local Compassion Initiative. Our goal in this initiative is to come alongside the materially poor in our community and help developmentally for the material poor and ourselves to be in right relationship with God, self, others, and the rest of creation.
